The New York Mess

By Kirsten Swanson
Instead of pounding his own chest last night after the game, K-Rod pounded on his father-in law's-head.
K-Rod allegedly hit his father-in-law outside the Mets clubhouse last night during an altercation between the two. He was quickly rushed inside the clubhouse to break up the fight. When he later came out, he politely told reporters when asked about the incident to “Mind your own f****** business.”
He was then arrested and charged with 3rd degree assault and according to many New York reporters, he is still in custody with his hearing sometime today. So far the Mets have placed Rodriguez on the two day restricted list, which is also an unpaid suspension. No word if there is going to be any additional disciplinary action.
Jerry Manuel, who is surprisingly still managing the Mets, basically laughed when asked if this is going to be a distraction to his team saying, “No, I am not. We’ve had a lot go on here and there. We are men, and things come our way, and we still have a job to do.”
With any other team this would be a huge distraction, but with the mess that is the New York Metropolitans, this is just another ordinary day.
Maybe this incident will knock K-Rod down off his high pedestal, but knowing him, he will be out there on the mound pumping his chest and kissing up to god like he won the World Series, when in reality his team is not going to make the playoffs for the fourth straight season. Luckily for us though, no matter how much they showboat, they are still the Mets.
